mAKE iNTERESTING wISHES

I’m not sure I agree with the seemingly negative overtones of this piece, but it’s interesting nonetheless. (I mean, sure, I’d love to pay less for baseball tickets, but we all know the days of nickel hot dogs and 10-cent beers have been gone for a generation, right? Just like nobody wears suits and fedoras to the games anymore?)

The reality is: big-time sports are big-time money.  And I’m happy that the MLB is making headlines for its monster contracts if for no other reason than to keep pace with the NFL and the NBA. It’s good for the long term health of the game to help attract top athletes, who otherwise might be wide receivers or point guards.
